Pitch for Detroit is day long softball tournament designed to re-connect a generation of Jewish Detroiters with each other and with the community. The organizers and CommunityNXT contacted me to created an easy to use website. The main goal of the site is to gather donations and provide campaign pages for each of the event participants.
We got clever. Quick turn around was possible by installing UberDrupal (Drupal with UberCart shopping cart features). Campaign pages were then made by treating players as products. Users are able to enter a donation amount and proceed through check out. With only a small custom module created to display each players "revenue" or raised amount, we were able to save the client development hours by using pre-existing contributed modules.
